Damitalle wissen, dass das Volk derAthener großen Dank abstattetdenen, die ihm Wohltaten leistenund bei ihrem Wohlwollen zum Volkbleiben, (wolle man beschließen): dass Peisitheides S.d. Pei-sitheides von Delos Athener sein soll, er selbstund seine Nachkommen mit Ausnahme dessen,der entsandt war von den Feinden der Stadtund Peisitheides’, um ihn zu töten;dass man ihn einschreibe in Demos undPhyle und Phratrie, welche er will,die die Gesetze erlauben; dass die Pry-tanen über ihn abstimmen lassenim Volk bei der ersten Volksversamm-lung; dass diesen Beschluß aufzeichneauf eine steinerne Stele der Sekretärder Prytanie und aufstelleauf der Akropolis; für die Aufzeichnungauf der Stele soll der Schatzmeister des Volkesdreißig Drachmen geben. Wenn einerPeisitheides tötet, soll er ein Feindsein dem Volk der Athener, und ebensodie Stadt, die den Mörder aufgenommenhat. Damit Peisitheides keinen Mangel anUnterhalt hat, soll, bis er zurückkehrtnach Delos, der jeweils amtierendeSchatzmeister des Volkes Peisitheideseine Drachme pro Tag geben ausdem Dekret-Fonds desVolkes. Bei den Nomothetensollen die jeweils amtierenden Vorsteherund der Vorsitzende zusätzlich ins Gesetzschreiben, dass dieses Geld die Apodektaiausteilen dem Schatzmeister desVolkes für jedes Jahr; derSchatzmeister soll es Peisitheidesprytanienweise auszahlen. Wenn abernicht darüber abstimmen lassen die Vorsteher und derVorsitzende der Nomotheten, soll jedervon ihnen 1000 Drachmen schuldig sein, die heiligsind der Athena.im Kranz:- - -im Kranz:Das Volk.im Kranz:Das Volk.

- - -- - -of the Athenians - - -[of the?] grants - - -the - - - People - - -and those [with?] - - -- - - of these with (?) - - -towards the People - - -his good will - - -and is a good [man] concerning the Athenians - - - [at every]opportunity does - - -with the Athenian People; so thateveryone may know that theAthenian People renders fulsomethanks to those who are its benefactorsand maintain the good willof the People (or their good will towards the People), Peisitheidesson of Peisitheides of Delos shall be an Athenian, himselfand his descendants, except for the onewho has been sent by the enemies of thecity and of Peisitheides to eliminate him;and he shall be registered in the deme andtribe and phratry that he wishes,of those which the laws stipulate;and the prytany shall put the vote about himto the People at the next Assembly;and the prytany secretaryshall inscribe this decreeon a stone stele and stand iton the acropolis; and for inscribingthe stele let the treasurer of the People givethirty drachmas; and if anyonekills Peisitheides, he shall bean enemy of the Athenian People, andany city that receives the killer;and so that Peisitheidesmay not want sustenance, until he returnsto Delos, the treasurer of the Peoplein office at any time shall give Peisitheidesa drachma a day from thePeople’s fund for expenditure ondecrees; and in the lawmakers thepresiding committee in officeand the chairman shall propose an amendment to the lawfor the budgetary officials to allocate this moneyto the treasurer of the Peopleeach year; and thetreasurer shall pay it to Peisitheideseach prytany; and ifthe presiding committee and thechairman of the lawmakersfail to put this matter to the vote, each of them shall owe 1,000 drachmas, sacredto Athena.in crown:- - -in crown:The People.in crown:The People.
